Fast Acquisition
Using the Fast Acquisition module you can acquire Z-stacks and multichannel images as time lapse sequences. Your images are written directly to your hard drive using the streaming technique. This means that you can take full advantage of the maximum speed of the components you are using, such as your camera, light source or piezo focusing unit. How many images you acquire and in what resolution depends solely on your hard drive's capacity.

Acquiring HeLa Cells
The living HeLa cells were acquired using the Cell Observer HS and the Fast Acquisition module. They were transfected with Reggie-1-GFP, a protein involved in "lipid raft" (cholesterol-enriched microdomain) formation. Mitochondria were stained with Mitotracker-red.

Z-stack was deconvolved. Shown is an extended depth of a focus time lapse movie. The time lapse was acquired with the Fast Acquisition module. Click on the image to start the time lapse.

Cells come from Prof. Dr. C. Stuermer, University of Konstanz, Germany.
Images were acquired on the CellObserver HS using a 63x Plan Apochromat objective, a Sutter DG4 light source and the AxioCam MRm.
